A Beka

A Beka Book provides schools with outstanding curriculum and textbooks built on a foundation of academic excellence and Christian character training.  Schools benefit from the textbooks and teaching materials that reflect the very best in traditional education, comprehensive curriculum and eternal truths.

Bible

The A Beka Book program presents stories of the Old and New Testaments and is designed to be specifically and systematically taught so that students in the Bible Program will become thoroughly acquainted with the basic portions of Scriptures.

Reading

Children become what they read, they need character-building reading materials from the very beginning.  A Beka Book employs phonics as the most logical, orderly way to introduce reading to children.

Mathematics

A Beka Book traditional mathematics books teach students to believe in absolutes, to work diligently for right answers, and to see mathematical facts as part of the truth and order built into the real universe.

English

Thought and language are foundational to acquiring and transmitting knowledge. The teaching of grammar, spelling, vocabulary, composition and literature in education is of particular importance.

S.T.E.M

Science, Technology, Engineering, Math

STEM helps children to explore, observe, ask questions, predict and integrate their learning.  It provides intellectual learning that has to do with reasoning, hypothesizing and predicting.  As a preschool we want children to learn their academic skills in the service of their intellect so when they come and say, show me how to measure this or show me how to write that, they are doing an investigation – which is an intellectually based activity and it becomes natural to them.

The importance of play in STEM

There are no greater natural scientists and engineers than young children.  High quality early learning environments provide children with the structure in which to build their natural inclination to explore, to build and to question.  It comes down to letting the children play!

The benefits of STEM

The link between early childhood and STEM is indisputable.  Early exposure to STEM supports children’s overall academic growth, develops early critical thinking and reasoning skills, and enhances later interest in STEM study and careers.
